     Expectations:
  1. Select a doctor for the infant
  2. Demonstrate how to make, cancel, change, and reschedule appointments
  3. Explain the well child check up and immunization schedule
  4. Bring infant for immunizations on schedule
  5. Child sees a doctor or nurse on a regular basis
  6. Record regular medical visits and immunizations in a medical journal, baby book or calendar
  7. Describe pros/cons of listening to friend’s advice versus doctor’s advice

     Expectations:
  1. Tell what a safe body temperature is for a child
  2. Tell what to do if your child gets sick (e.g., take temperature, call consulting nurse).
  3. Describe when to call 9-1-1 if child is sick or in danger.
  4. Describe when to take child to the doctor when sick.
  5. Post poison center number.
  6. Describe when to call poison control.

  4. Demonstrate bathing a baby.
  5. Describe how to care for baby’s skin (e.g., not expose to sunlight for too long, don’t use sun screen until at least 6 months old).
  6. Describe three ways to help a baby fall asleep.
  7. Describe three techniques to sooth a baby’s gums during teething.
  8. Demonstrate care for baby’s first set of teeth
  9. Demonstrate dressing baby comfortably for warm or cold weather.
